Jeremy Aston began his career as a Graduate Building Surveyor in a multi disciplinary private consultancy, Kendall Kingscott Partnership, Bristol. In 1986 he successfully completed his test of professional competence and became Chartered. Jeremy moved to the Bristol & West's head office to develop his Project Management skills within a larger organisation and was responsible for the delivery of capital projects across the Society's UK wide retail/office estate.


In 1988 he moved to a regional consultancy (Easton & Co, Bristol) and was given full P&L responsibility for developing the Building Surveying and Project Management services of the business. Jeremy significantly increased turnover, recruited and trained additional staff and in 1991 was offered formal partnership terms. He took the decision to expand his work experience. Jeremy moved to the Chelsea Building Society (HQ, Cheltenham) and was responsible for large capital projects. In 1993 he was selected by the Senior General Manager to help establish and train a team to deal with growing repossessions. He introduced and was responsible to the Board for the volume auction sale of properties (project value £15m+). Jeremy was promoted on completion of this project.


Jeremy married and relocated to Hampshire in 1997. In the year leading up to this move he undertook a variety of freelance assignments (Unicorn, Bristol, King Sturge, Bristol, Bovis Homes, Glos. Palmer Fry, Southampton) and redeveloped two properties in the Cotswolds.


In Hampshire Jeremy secured a contract assignment with NTL's Estates Department. Within weeks he was appointed as Senior Building Surveyor responsible for a team of 10 regional surveyors with a national property portfolio of 1,500 sites. Jeremy's Project Management skills and ability to deliver were recognised by a Board Director and he used this as a springboard to set up Aston & Co in 1997.

Qualifications


2007 - Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner - 93% Foundation Exam Highest in Group. PRINCE2 Practitioner - Qualified 19.10.07.

1997 - Elected Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).


1986 - Elected an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - Building Surveying Division (ARICS).



1984 - Awarded the Building magazine prize for 'the most promising final year graduate from the Department of Construction Management'.
